What causes vaginal pH imbalance and how can you fix it?

Why You Don't Want A Basic Vagina (We're Talking pH)

No pumpkin spice lattes, no vanilla mist, and definitely no basic pH. Your vagina is naturally acidic, sitting between 3.2 and 4.5 on the pH scale, and that's exactly where she wants to be.

That acidity comes from Lactobacilli, the good bacteria that produce lactic acid and hydrogen peroxide to keep the bad stuff out. We're talking E-coli, Staphylococcus, and Candida. Not welcome here.

When the balance tips

Research shows that having less than 90% Lactobacilli puts you at risk of vaginal dysbiosis. Basically 😉 that means your good bacteria are outnumbered, and that's when thrush and BV show up uninvited. When it gets itchy, we get bitchy.

What throws it off?

The usual suspects: alcohol, sugar, processed food, antibiotics, tight jeans, and a sweaty gym sesh or bedroom session. Basically, living your life.

We're not here to tell you to stop. We're here to help you keep your good bacteria stocked up so the bad ones never get a look-in.

Why it actually matters

Beyond the discomfort, an imbalanced vaginal microbiome can increase the risk of pelvic inflammatory disease, pregnancy complications, and STIs. Your vagina is genuinely low-maintenance. She just needs a little backup.

How to help her out

Load up on probiotic-rich foods like yoghurt, kimchi, sauerkraut, and bananas. And consider a targeted probiotic with the two strains that do the heavy lifting for vaginal health: L. Rhamnosus and L. Acidophilus. These have been shown to promote a healthy vaginal microbiome and reduce the likelihood and length of thrush and BV.

V Good Probiotics contains both, plus two additional scientifically studied strains for gut health support. Easy down-there care, daily
