Our Founder has something to share. šŸ‘¶šŸ¼

I wanted to take a moment to reach out personally and share some exciting news with you.

Iā€™m pregnant! Currently in my second trimester and feeling great!

Since my hormone journey kicked off 7 years ago when I came off the pill (wow time flies) Iā€™ve been obsessed with womenā€™s health, hormones and empowering myself and other women with knowledge to support the ups and downs of female wellness. Iā€™ve shared a lot about my journey and itā€™s my goal to keep my ā€˜open bookā€™ approach throughout pregnancy, too.

On that note, here are a few things that have really helped me so far on my conception and pregnancy journey.

TRYING TO CONCEIVE

Ovulation is the main event of the menstrual cycle. When trying to conceive, supporting ovulation became even more of a focus. Working on my stress levels (shout out to my therapist!), and balancing my blood sugars really helped.

I took Period Pal for the first two weeks of my cycle each month. Period Pal is the queen of ovulation thanks to the CHUNKY dose of Vitex Agnus-Castus. You can take Period Pal through your cycle if youā€™re not trying for a baby. But if you are, sticking to the first two weeks gives you the ovulation support benefits of the supp, before easing off for the last 2 weeks of your cycle in case youā€™ve conceived.

FIRST TRIMESTER

I canā€™t describe the feeling of seeing a positive result on a pregnancy test after so many negative results. It still makes me feel emotional thinking about that moment.

Iā€™d been excited to take V Good Probiotics while pregnant ever since we formulated it and I learned about the benefits these probiotics have for pregnancy - both for the mum and bebe. During pregnancy our vaginal microbiomes change rapidly, preparing to pass on a diverse range of friendly bacteria to our babies when birthed vaginally. This bacterial transfer is what starts setting up your baby's gut microbiome, and thus health, for life! Mind blowing. So working on your microbiome during pregnancy can support your babyā€™s lifelong health.

These vaginal microbial changes can make thrush more common for us, though. V Good Probiotics to the rescue!

SECOND AND THIRD TRIMESTERS

During these phases, weā€™re at risk of developing gestational diabetes. But luckily thereā€™s things you can do to help!

Eating to balance my blood sugar levels is something Iā€™m more aware of now as in pregnancy our bodies have a harder job of managing insulin levels thanks to pregnancy hormones. Eating my veggies, followed by protein/fats and finally carbs in my meals is an easy hack to help balance. As well as taking Blood Sugar Babe of course!

Our red babe is recommended for the latter trimesters to give your insulin management a helping hand, supporting lowered risk of gestational diabetes. Or, management of the condition if you are diagnosed.

If you want to talk more about pregnancy or conception I am - and our team is - always here, just an email or a DM away.
